Before Your First Class
Welcome to Northern Breath.
Whether this is your very first breathwork experience or you're joining me for the first time, I'm so glad you're here.
My intention is to create a space where you can simply arrive, breathe, and meet yourself exactly as you are. There is nothing you need to achieve or get right. I'll guide you throughout the entire journey.
If This Is Your First Class
If this is your first breathwork session with Northern Breath, please join the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before class begins.
This gives us time to say hello, go over the breathing technique, explain what to expect, and answer any questions before we begin.
Creating Your Space
To help you get the most from your experience, I recommend that you:
Wear comfortable clothing.
Find a quiet, private space where you won't be disturbed.
Have a yoga mat, blanket, or another comfortable place to lie down.
Use an eye mask if you enjoy using one (optional).
Avoid eating a large meal for 2–3 hours before class.
Silence your phone and allow yourself this time without interruptions.
During the Breathwork Journey
Every breathwork experience is unique.
You may feel relaxed, energized, emotional, or simply present. There is no right or wrong experience.
Throughout the session, I encourage you to listen to your body. If you need to slow down or return to your natural breathing at any time, you're always welcome to do so.
A Few Health Considerations
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a powerful practice. If you are pregnant, have cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, epilepsy, glaucoma, detached retina, severe asthma, or significant physical or mental health concerns, please contact me before participating.
If you're ever unsure whether breathwork is right for you, I'm happy to help.
Questions?
If you have any questions before class, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I look forward to welcoming you.
With warmth,
Lene McNair
