Meet Lene

A life guided by breath, presence, and the quiet clarity of the Arctic.

Founder of The Arctic Villa, Northern Breath, and The STATE Method

Lene McNair is a breathwork facilitator, speaker, and founder of The Arctic Villa and Northern Breath.

After nearly two decades in Los Angeles, she returned to her native Norway and settled in Tromsø, where she now guides individuals, groups, and organizations through breathwork, nervous system regulation, retreats, and transformative experiences inspired by the Arctic.

Since 2018, Lene has been teaching and facilitating conscious connected breathwork — helping people move beyond stress, overwhelm, and old patterns to reconnect with greater calm, clarity, and direction.

Her work combines breathwork, nervous system awareness, meditation, and self-inquiry into a practical approach that helps people create meaningful change from the inside out.

At the heart of her teaching is a simple belief:

The state you live from shapes how you think, feel, and act.

Through The STATE Method and STATE Breathwork, Lene helps people learn how to recognize, regulate, and shift their state — creating the conditions for greater resilience, connection, and possibility.

Whether guiding a retreat in the mountains, leading a workshop, teaching online, or welcoming guests to The Arctic Villa, her work is rooted in the same intention:

To help people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and find their way forward.

"Your breath is your inner compass."

Guiding People Back to the Breath

For years, Lene has guided individuals, groups, and organizations through breathwork experiences designed to create greater calm, clarity, and connection.

Her clients and collaborations include organizations such as Google and Elizabeth Arden, as well as cancer organizations, deaf and hard-of-hearing associations, festivals, museums, art exhibitions, and community events.

Through workshops, talks, retreats, and breathwork sessions, she has supported thousands of people in reconnecting with themselves through the power of the breath.

Lene's Method

Over time, Lene has developed a practical approach that combines breathwork, nervous system regulation, and self-awareness to help people create lasting change from the inside out.

At the heart of her work is a simple idea:

The state you live from shapes how you think, feel, and act.

When you learn to recognize, regulate, and shift your state, new possibilities become available.

The STATE Method

A practical framework for understanding and transforming the state you live from.

Rather than focusing solely on thoughts or behavior, The STATE Method works with the nervous system — helping people move from stress and survival mode into greater calm, clarity, resilience, and connection.

STATE Breathwork

A guided breathwork practice that combines conscious breathing, sound, and stillness to support regulation, awareness, and meaningful change.

By working directly with the breath, participants learn how to access greater presence, clarity, and direction in everyday life.

ORRSI

A simple process woven throughout Lene's work:

Observe · Regulate · Reset · Stabilize · Integrate

ORRSI provides a practical pathway for turning awareness into lasting change.

Together, these elements form the foundation of Lene's work — helping people move from tension and overwhelm toward greater balance, presence, and possibility.

"Your breath is your inner compass."

Life at The Arctic Villa

In 2019, Lene returned to Norway after nearly two decades in Los Angeles, settling in Tromsø with her husband, musician Gabrial McNair, and their two daughters.

Together they created The Arctic Villa — a place shaped by the stillness, light, and natural rhythm of the north. A place where people can slow down, reconnect, and experience the restorative power of breath, nature, and presence.

Today, Lene welcomes guests from around the world to The Arctic Villa while continuing to guide individuals, groups, and organizations through Northern Breath.

Her work includes private sessions, group experiences, workshops, retreats, corporate programs, live online classes, and a growing membership community.

Whether in person or online, each experience is designed to help people regulate the nervous system, reconnect with themselves, and create more calm, clarity, and direction in their lives.

Rooted in the quiet strength of the Arctic, Lene's work is an invitation to pause, breathe, and find your way back to what matters most.
