About The Arctic Villa
The Arctic Villa is a historic Swiss-chalet–style villa and boutique apartment hotel nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Tromsø, Norway. Blending Nordic elegance with the warmth of a private residence, it offers serene, thoughtfully designed spaces shaped by the Arctic’s shifting light — from the glow of the midnight sun to the magic of the northern lights.
One apartment offers rare panoramic views of the fjord, mountains, and city, while another provides a cozy and grounding retreat surrounded by garden and quiet. The Villa invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and experience the stillness and beauty of the north.
Built in 1917 by a respected Arctic ice-fishing family, the Villa is a charming historic home with a rich local story. Ideally located between the Arctic Cathedral and the Fjellheisen Cable Car in Tromsdalen, it provides easy access to the city center, nature, hikes, and Arctic adventures.

Our Story
The Arctic Villa has been owned and operated by the McNair family since 2019, when they relocated from Los Angeles to Tromsø.
Lene is a Norwegian actress and entrepreneur, and Gabrial is an American musician. Together with their two bilingual daughters, they have created a welcoming home that blends Arctic living, creativity, and wellness.
