The Arctic Villa is a 5-star historic Swiss-chalet–style home nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Tromsø, Norway. Our boutique apartment hotel blends Nordic elegance with the warmth of a private residence, offering serene, thoughtfully designed spaces shaped by the Arctic’s shifting light — from the glow of the midnight sun to the magic of the northern lights. With one apartment offering rare panoramic views of the fjord, mountains, and city, and another designed to feel cozy and grounding, the Villa invites you to slow down, breathe, and experience the stillness and beauty of the north.

Built in 1917 by a respected Arctic ice-fishing family, the Villa is a charming and historic retreat. Centrally located between the Arctic Cathedral and the Cable Car in Tromsdalen, it offers easy access to the city center, nature, hikes, and adventure.

Northern Breath is our global breathwork and wellness community, inspired by the same clarity and calm that surrounds our home. Through live online sessions, in-person classes, and on-demand practices, Northern Breath offers a grounded path to clarity, balance, and inner strength. Whether you join us from afar or here at the Villa, each session is designed to reconnect you with yourself through breath, presence, and gentle transformation.

Together, The Arctic Villa and Northern Breath create a unique experience where place and practice meet — where Arctic beauty supports deep rest, and the power of breath helps you rise into your next chapter.

Owned and operated by the McNair family since 2019, after relocating from Los Angeles to Tromsø. Lene is a Norwegian actress and entrepreneur; Gabrial is an American musician. Their two bilingual daughters are now in elementary and middle school. The family is delighted to welcome you to their Arctic Villa.

Although it is not located in the city center of Tromsø but on the side near the church, it's not far to walk to the city center, and it's actually closer to the cable car. The host also offers various local activities to choose from, allowing you to experience more of the local culture and connect with people.
