I want to personally thank you for being a part of my community. I'm so grateful for the chance to share the power of Breathwork with you. Remember, this practice can impact you physically, mentally, and emotionally, so stay mindful of any shifts and be gentle with yourself today. Breathwork can stir up a lot that needs clearing. Something to keep in mind

1. Breathwork is best on an empty stomach, so best not to eat a big meal approx. 2 hours before class.

2. Dress warmly and comfortably. 

3. You will need a yoga mat, or a comfortable place to lay down.

4. I recommend a warm blanket, and an eye mask if you wish.

WHY BREATHWORK

Breathing.an umbrella term for any practice that involves a conscious change in your breathing pattern. The long-term benefits are improvement of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health and well-being. A class is 90 minutes with active breathing, gong, and a guided heart opening meditation. Class is facilitated by Lene McNair, who through music and lyrics will take you on an undeniable experience. The technique is a Conscious Connected Breathing or Circular Breath, which is performed through an open mouth, and is two inhales and one exhales. The idea is to achieve a continuous inhale and exhale pattern with no pause in between. This type of breathing floods our body with oxygen and renews our cells.

Cautions

Breathowrk can result in intense physical and emotional release. Therefore, it is not recommended for people with a history of cardiovascular disease, including angina or myocardial infarction, high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, significant physical injury or recent surgery.

Breathwork is not recommended for people with severe mental illness, seizure disorders or for people who use strong medication. It is also unsuitable for anyone who has a personal or family history of aneurysms. Pregnant women are not advised to practice breathing work without first consulting and obtaining approval from their GP. People with asthma should take the inhaler with them and consult their GP and inform Lene about the situation.

It’s advised to have an experienced instructor help you practice this technique.
